Thank you to our members, the SASA Council and colleagues who worked so hard to set up a Forum to discuss Covid-19 and the challenges it poses to society. Thanks to Eddie Webster and David Cooper for coming up with the idea, and to Letitia Smuts and Chinwe Obuaku for running with it, and our web service provider Brent Wilson and webmaster Percyval Bayane. This is such an important issue to discuss and this Forum hopefully will become a vibrant platform for this. SASA was not able to hold its annual congress in 2020 because of the virus outbreak. Our discussions here will hopefully also keep the lines of communication open and alive among us despite the gap left by not meeting at Free State University as planned. I do have a substantive contribution to make on the topic, but let me confine this message to expressing my gratitude for the birth of this Forum. Please engage, share ideas and research, and more. Asikhulume! Praat! Thetha! Bua! Amba!
